Jason No B.S. I have tried to review this beer multiple times. My problem, I like it so much that I have never been able to put one down long enough to sit here and write down my thoughts. No joke, I’m probably on my 5th or 6th six pack of Big Sky Brewing Company’s Big Sky IPA.
Big Sky Brewing Company classifies this brew as an India Pale Ale and their website describes Big Sky IPA as, “In Montana, many classic memories are made right after someone says, “Hold my beer and watch this.” These bold, assertive moments deserve a bold, assertive beer – Big Sky IPA. A distinct hop presence and malty backbone will leave you refreshed and ready for your moment of glory. Hang on tight and enjoy the ride.”
Big Sky IPA pours a golden amber color with an off white ½ head and has hoppy/citrus aromas and comes in at 6.2% ABV.
This is one beer that I would never ask anyone to hold for me, it's mine keep your dirty hands off. It's like asking, "Bro, hold onto my girlfriend for a minute...it just wouldn't happen." I really really like this beer. As mentioned, I have been through more than a few of these without having the ability to put one down long enough to collect my thoughts. After six of these, my thoughts are usually hard to put into words. Big Sky IPA is pure hoppy goodness and finishes with a nice touch of malty sweetness without being too pronounced. The masters of Missoula, Montana have more than made one fine IPA…as they state “We Make Water Fun.” Personally, I think they’ve sold themselves a little short on the motto. If it were up to me, I’d change it to “We Make Water Exceptionally Fantastic!”
ABV: 6.2%
Consumed: Sam Adams Sensory Glass
Verdict: Buy A Case
