Blue Moon Brewing Company- Full Moon Winter Ale

This evenings tasting continues my trend of the Winter Seasonal reviews, stepping up to the plate is the Full Moon Winter Ale from one of the MillerCoors Craft Beer children, Blue Moon Brewing Company. Touted as a “Full-Bodied Ale," it is described on the label as an “Abbey Ale brewed with a hint of dark Belgian sugar.” I typically like Belgian Abbey Ales but Full Moon is not quite like the others, which I have to attribute to their “hint of dark Belgian sugar.” The beer is rather sweet in taste but I don’t necessarily think that it is a bad thing…just not my cup of tea. It is successful in achieving a Winter Brew flavor but cannot hold a candle to some of the others that I have tried this season. Overall, I’d say that Blue Moon left me with the Winter Brew blue balls…
