Dogfish Head Craft Brewery- Namaste: A Salutation To Your Taste Buds

In my quest to empty the fridge of beer prior to Christmas has proven to be a little more difficult that I had originally anticipated.  I never thought that I would have been as busy as I have been but with doing theater with my girls, work, X-Mas shopping and all the other B.S. that has taken place I’ve barely made a dent.  Then I had a great idea, I’ll polish off the bombers (22oz bottles) first and create the appearance of a less full fridge.  So with that in mind I decided that I would reach for a brew that was a gift from Master Steve.  Aside from being a gift brew, this is a great choice at this time due to the popularity of the Brew Masters show on Discovery which features Dogfish Head.  Last, you may not believe it but I am yoga practitioner, so it makes drinking and reviewing Namaste even cooler for me.  In case you didn’t know, Namaste is a Sanskrit for, “Let There Be a Salutation to You.”  Namaste is poured and ready.

Dogfish Head Craft Brewery classifies this brew as a Belgian-Style White Ale and their website describes Namaste as, “A Belgian-style White made with dried organic orange slices, fresh cut lemongrass and a bit of coriander. This beer is a great summer quencher.

Namaste was originally brewed at our brewpub in with our friend Leo from Birra del Borgo in Italy as a tribute to our friends at 3 Fonteinen brewery in Belgium, who had devastating production loss (1/3 of their annual production!) at their brewery in 2009. You can read more about the original brewing of this beer here on Sam's blog.”  This is a limited release from Dogfish Head Craft Brewery.

Namaste pours from a 750ml bottle a speckled straw yellow with a fat 2” white head with a yellow hue.  The aroma is very Belgiany with esters, coriander, strong lemongrass scents and faint orange zest.

Here is another winner from Dogfish Head Craft Brewery, not to mention another Belgian-Style brew that I find very tasty.  It’s abundance of lemon and citrus tastes are right up my alley.  Namaste is as visually pleasing as it is drinkable with its sunshine yellow glow as it rests in the glass.  It’s no surprise that Dogfish Head has done it again with another great brew.  Despite what the novice may think, it’s not all spit beer (Chicha) from Dogfish Head.  This would be a great introduction beer for the masses that haven’t quite dived into the Craft Beer culture and for those who are seasoned veterans alike.  My hats off to Dogfish Head, Namaste has proven to be a Salutation to my thirsty taste buds, not to mention there’s one less beer in the fridge.
