Gray's Brewing Company- Busted Knuckle Irish Ale: Coming all the way from the rolling Irish hills of Wisconsin

It has been another crazy busy week. I bought a new car and had to finalize the move into my new apartment. So, my reviews have been slacking and Jason has been left pulling all the weight. I decided to grab a Busted Knuckle from Gray Brewing Co. tonight to represent the fact that Jason should probably kick my ass, on account of my motivational problems.

Busted Knuckle pours the coppery/ ruby red you would expect from an Irish ale. The carbonation was almost nil as well as was any trace of foam. Busted Knuckle has a very, very fruity aroma, kind of reminiscent of fermented apple cider. It also smells sweet to the point of giving your nostrils an overload of olfactory obliteration. This beer just does not come across as a particularly pretty or appetizing brew. But what the hell, I mean it is called Busted Knuckle after all.

Alright, let’s talk about something called the “x factor.” The x factor is that intangible quality you get when you drink a beer and go WOW! Let me tell you right now, this beer ain’t it… Busted Knuckle will have you busting your own knuckles on your face in frustration. It’s so sweet and malty that you will want to brush your teeth after you’re done. It tastes like an amber ale that was left out in the sun for a week. It’s way too sweet and WAY to creamy tasting! This one just isn’t for me, sorry! Cool bottle art though...

ABV: ???

Consumed: Pint Glass

Verdict: Bum one from a friend!
