Magic Hat Brewing Company- Blind Faith: Consider Me An IPA Roadie

Jason Well, it’s been almost two weeks since I’ve reviewed an IPA and I figured now is a good time to throw one into the mix. A few weeks back I stumbled across a variety pack from Magic Hat Brewing Company. I have been a big fan of Magic Hat since I cracked my first Howl and I was excited to see what was inside this magical variety pack. Aside from the standard #9 (which is far from standard) and their Wacko summer seasonal there were two other brews that I had yet to hear about. The one I’ll be partaking in is Magic Hat’s Blind Faith a part of their I.P.A. On Tour series which is a Limited Engagement brew.
Magic Hat Brewing Company classifies this brew as an India Pale Ale (IPA) and their website describes Blind Faith as An ale of enlightenment created to aid in deciphering the puzzles along life’s road, and to interpret signs in the voyages of the spirit. Blind Faith is an extremely well-balanced India Pale Ale with a crisp, refreshing hop bitterness and a deep malt body to match.
Blind Faith pours a hazy sunset golden color with a ½” tan head and has a citrusy hop, pale malt and fruity aroma and is 6.2% ABV.
They say that variety is the spice of life, well then variety packs must be king. I have never seen Blind Faith in a six pack or any other means aside from the variety pack. Damn I wish this was available in a sixer as I would happily drink this on a more regular basis. Blind Faith is a very good IPA. It has a very muted malt start and finishes with a tangy hop bit with tiny hints of lemon zest, grapefruit and spice. The flavor is unique and I cannot seem to remember another IPA that has any similarity whatsoever. Blind Faith is another winner, which seems to be par for the course for Magic Hat. I only wish that I had more in the fridge to enjoy and that I could join the IPA Tour. Do what you like…but my faith in Magic Hat is solid.
ABV: 6.2%
