New Belgium Brewery- Hoptober: As Hoppy As A Pig In...

Salvador Dali once stated “There are some days when I think I'm going to die from an overdose of satisfaction.”  That would be the day the first drop of Hoptober hit my tastebuds.

I would be greatly remiss if I didn’t take this opportunity, with 20 days left of Fall, to review (IMO) the best brew of the Fall season.  I have to admit that I am as partial to the New Belgium Brewery as I am my own mother but with the introduction of their “Hoptober Golden Ale,” Mom may have to take a back seat to the folks at the New Belgium Brewery.

It is described on the New Belgium website as “Five hops and four malts make Hoptober Golden Ale a veritable cornucopia of the earth.  Pale and wheat malt are mashed with rye and oats to create a medium-bodied ale with a creamy mouthfeel.  Centennial, Cascade, Sterling, Willamette, and Glacier hops form a bonfire of citrus notes, fruity cheers and a bold finale.”

Everything about this beer is sheer seasonal brew perfection, a Hop Head’s wet dream.  My only disappointment is that I am running out of stock in the garage and am currently marking off the days on the calendar till the 2010 edition of Hoptober arrives at my local liquor store.
