O’Fallon Brewery- 5 Day IPA: Maybe give it 10 days next time…

Wes I’m tired. I started a new job at a new high school and I have to move in three weeks. So I really don’t have the time to give this review all the bells and whistles. But since tonight is the Season Three premiere of Sons of Anarchy I was looking for a little reward, maybe something kick ass, tough and bitter. Let’s do this.
When you pour O’Fallon 5 Day IPA the body and head will blow you away. I took a phone call and folded some laundry and even after 15 minutes there was still a good inch of whipped cream foam. The rusted orange color actually glows in the glass. I was really surprised at how light the scent was. Maybe the fortress of foam was blocking the scent but I was only able to pick out a slight citrusy hop aroma.
Ok this is an average IPA at best. It is actually very smooth and drinkable. The citrus twist is almost refreshing. It is not going to blow the mind of hardcore hop fanatics; however it would work as a perfect intro IPA for newbies. Or, I could recommend it as a plausible session IPA, maybe for a full Sunday of football. O’Fallon 5 day IPA is like a rental car, you probably won’t get the one you want, but it will do the job temporarily.
ABV: 6.1%
Consumed: Pint Glass
Verdict: Buy a six pack
