Wes The holidays are a time to give thanks and be merry. So what could be a better way than with a Rich’s RIPA, a beer brewed by Short’s as a tribute to all the brewery dads. I might not tell my dad enough, but he really is a great guy, who would do anything for his family and would never ask for anything in return. Having met Jason’s dad I can say the same about him. Tonight I drink to all the dad’s who have made all these happy holidays possible.
Short’s bills Rich’s RIPA as Super Hopped! Rich’s RIPA has a coppery-golden hue. It was extremely foamy with a slightly above average level of carbonation bubbling under the overly abundant eggshell tinted head. It was hard to get a good feel for the scent through the foam, but I could detect hints of rye and citrusy hops. This brew is a beautiful bounty of eye bulging benevolence. I have to compliment Short’s on their ability to consistently manufacture gorgeous beers.
As an outspoken anti-enthusiast of Rye Beers, I must say I was pleased with and pleasantly surprised by Rich’s RIPA. It is so hoppy that the rye flavors actually take a backseat. The rye is really just a backbone to a hoppy and bitter beer experience. I am a fan of this brew! Rich’s RIPA has a strong bite and great flavor. It deserves to be mentioned when people start bragging about all their hoppy conquests. If you are a hop-head, this is a beer you simply cannot afford to miss.
