Two Brothers Brewing Company- The Bitter End Pale Ale: Encore, Encore!

Depending on the situation we either relish or despise the end of something.  I absolutely love the end of a work day and hate the end of the weekend.  We love to hate the end of something we loath and hate the end of something we love, like a good Craft Beer…you never want it to end; unless there are another 5 waiting to be consumed.  Tonight I will find out if there will be another happy ending in my future (get your mind out of the gutter) with Two Brothers Brewing Company’s The Bitter End Pale Ale.

Two Brothers Brewing Company classifies this beer as an American Pale Ale and their website describes The Bitter End Pale Ale as, “This American Pale Ale has a subtle malty character with noticeable hop flavor and aroma.  Three classic American hop varieties add complexity to this incredibly drinkable beer. At the end of every glass, you will discover how this pale ale got its name.”  In addition, Two Brothers have rebranded and redesigned their labels and I have to say that I love the new look.

The Bitter End pours a hazy, speckled caramel/orange color with a 2” cream colored head and has an upfront citrus aroma with touches of floral hops and pine and is 5.2% ABV.

Thanks to big Wes for hooking me up with this brew.  This is a very bitter and tangy American pale ale.  There is no hint or even subtle hint of any malt character to Bitter End; this is not necessarily a bad thing.  The taste is not very characteristic of a typical APA and is more like an IPA, which is fine by me.  The Bitter End starts piney and finishes super citrusy with a grapefruit bite that is crisp and hangs around long enough to savor the flavor.  Two Brothers were right, I don’t want this beer to end and it’s the only one I have.  If my fridge were stocked with more I’d be standing in front of it as if I were at a Metallica concert after the first set screaming “Encore, encore!”

ABV: 5.2%

Consumed: New Belgium Globe Glass

Verdict: Buy A Twelve Pack
