Victory Brewing Company- HopDevil IPA: For The Devil In All Of Us

I am thoroughly enjoying my journey down IPA road when suddenly I found myself at the cross roads.  We all know the story of Robert Johnson and how he sold his soul to the devil near Dockery Plantation at midnight in exchange for becoming a famous blues musician.  Well the fine folks over at Victory Brewing Company might have fallen victim to the devil in exchange for this beastly brew.

Victory Brewing Company classifies this brew as an India Pale Ale and their website describes HopDevil as “Menacingly delicious, with the powerful, aromatic punch of whole flower American hops backed up by rich, German malts.  HopDevil Ale offers a roller coaster ride of flavor, coasting to a smooth finish that satisfies fully.”

This beer poured a cloudy caramel color with a ½” tan head with citrus, spice & hoppy aromas and is 6.7% ABV.

This Beelzebubian brew hits your taste bud with the bitter pitchfork of hops and citrus flavors.  The characteristics are what I have come to love and enjoy out of the IPA style.  This is one of the better IPA’s that I have experienced lately and I’m feeling a little evil for enjoying it.  So if the girlfriend’s coming over for your birthday and she’s got something naughty planned, grab for a brew that will get the devil stirring within…cause you’re gonna need it.

ABV: 6.7%
